Monster Pot
This was one of the largest pots I've seen at 2/4 so far. Flop was nice but the multiraises on the flop even with top set wasn't so nice.
Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero calls, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (6 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players) SB checks, BB bets, Hero calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 calls, Button raises, SB folds, BB calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG+2 calls, MP3 calls, Button caps, BB folds, Hero calls, UTG+2 calls, MP3 calls. Turn: (12 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero bets, UTG+2 raises, MP3 folds, Button calls, Hero calls. River: (18 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, UTG+2 raises, Button 3-bets, Hero caps, UTG+2 calls, Button calls. Final Pot: 30 BB Results in white below: Hero has 8c 8d (full house, eights full of sevens). UTG+2 has 9c Th (straight, jack high). Button has 8s 7c (full house, sevens full of eights). Outcome: Hero wins 30 BB. |

Re: Monster Pot
I would lean towards checkraising the river against most opponents. He won't be able to resist betting his probable straight on the end but may only call with it cause the board paired. But you got assloads of action out of him, so your line couldn't be too bad . But generally, with his turn action, you know he is going to bet the river but not necessarily raise a bet from you. Thats why I'm bringing out the sandbag.

Re: Monster Pot
If the game is loose and passive, calling and hoping for a limpfest is better. If the game is tighter, raise it. In general it may be best to limp with this most of the time in EP at low limit games.

Re: Monster Pot
Well played. I don't know if you put him on T9, but it was perfect.
