Default Does anybody ever use this play?

I'm just looking for people's opinions on this play in general. Checking behind on the flop so I can induce weaker hands to bet the turn and force flush draws to put in a lot more with a smaller pot while further behind. This play isn't commonplace for me, but I do try it every now and then. Should it never be used in shorthanded games? How about in my particular situation? Thoughts/comments.

Not with a jack I dont, theres too many cards to come to hurt you. Maybe with an ace and/or less people in the pot. Still I use this very sparingly.

Disclaimer: I'm an idiot to SH play.

That said, your hand looks more vulnerable in this particular hand than I'd like.

It should never be used in any game, its awfull.

You dont want to give whatever pair, overcards, gutshot, 1 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] etc a free card.

There is no hand I like that I would check in this spot.

I should have added that I don't think any of the players involved would limp with an Ace or King in their hand, except the blinds maybe.

...as the man says.

IMO you should really never slowplay the flop with top-pair facing a coordinated board in this position.

....although...what if you had AJ diamonds in the same position?

Perhaps this is actually a situation where you hope someone else hits a flush, but K or Q overcards can still beat you. I think I would still raise the flop here with the AJ....gentlemen?

Remember that anyone with a flush draw would call on the flop anyways. Checking behind on the flop in a multiway pot with a strong hand is almost always wrong.

nope
a) leaves too much money on the table

b) hand is nowhere near strong enough to slowplay

c) since the purpose of this is to make more money...who is going to call 2 big bets when you raise up the turn?

The line can be used sparingly. This is a bad spot for it. Too many opponent and too weak a hand.
