Cards- Bridge or Regular - or does it matter?
Most ppl seem to prefer the Regular but I notice all the Casinos I go to use bridge. Any body know why it is they do? Harder to cheat? Cheaper?
Just want to know before I order a large quantity of KEM decks from USPC. |

It matters to me - I much prefer Bridge size because they are easier to shuffle. Just easier to handle in general I guess.

Re: Cards- Bridge or Regular - or does it matter?
Bottom line -- it really doesn't matter.
When you catch your boat on the flop, you don't care what kinda cards you're holding! The smaller ("bridge") size is what's used in most poker rooms, so lots of people prefer it for status as much as anything else. They're also a little smaller if you have lots of people crowded around a table. Also a little easier to shuffle. But these are all tiny differences, IMO. Bridge size is especially good for games where you have lots of cards in your hand -- like bridge, gin, hearts. etc. But that obviously doesn't apply to most poker games. The larger ("poker") size is used for blackjack at casinos. There may have been some original reason for this, like they'd be harder to slip up your sleeve and cheat, but who knows. They're only a 1/4" wider fergodsakes so it's no big deal. I like bridge size and all my Kems are that size. Now you can worry about Index (no Super Index for me)! And heck, here's a nice page about cards: http://www.homepokertourney.com/cards.htm And this one shows the faces (Index), click on Next Face to see others: http://www.kem.com/regface.html |

Re: Cards- Bridge or Regular - or does it matter?
I have a set of Kems, poker size, and super index. i'm not a big fan of the super index, while it is your job to protect your cards, it feels like you have to lift them so high off the table to see suits.
i wanna get a new set of bridge sized kems, i like having variety. |

UBB (this bulliten board) software has really crappy search. Like mid-80's technology the last time I maintained it. They should incorporate google, dammit.
Card size is all about preference. Mine is bridge size, regular index. |
