UB $40+$4 NL touney question
13 left of 210.
Blinds are 800/1600, I've got 25,000. SB has 60,000 and BB has 35,000. I've got 9c8c. UTG limps with about 13,000 behind. He's been limping and folding a lot. I decide to see a flop. The SB folds and BB checks. Flop is Ac4c9d giving me 4 to the flush and middle pair. BB bets out for the min bet of 1600. What do you do? |

Re: UB $40+$4 NL touney question
I'm assuming UTG folded. Raise it to about 4k. In this situation I'm not overly concerned about a push from the BB. If I thought there was a legitimate chance that the BB would push if I raised, I would just call here because if he does push you have to call.

How'd you finish? My wife and I both played it last night, I think she got 15th.
I got 13th on Tuesday, I think. |

What's wrong with pushing yourself here?

Re: UB $40+$4 NL touney question
nothing wrong with pushing at all. basically this raise is the same as a push since you will call any raise he makes. sometimes though I like to make this raise here because there are times I will raise like this on a pure bluff and then fold if pushed. i'd be giving away information if i raised less than all-in only when i was bluffing.
