Reraise preflop even when you\'re behind?
Something I'm curious about. I'm in late position, UTG limps and UTG+1 raises, 2 more cold call and it comes to me. I check his stats and he raised about 2% of the time preflop. So I know, beyond a doubt, he's got me beat (I have AQs). However, I'm suited, UTG+1 might have KK or QQ. Do I reraise at this point or not? I'm behind to the raiser, but there's a good change I'm ahead of most of the loose cold callers (all VPIP >35).
This is the one area I get fuzzy on preflop. Is it better EV to just call because I'm likey behind, but with a good flop I could bet. Or should I pump the pot dragging along the people that are way behind anyway as they're -EV for each bet to both I and the original raiser? |

Re: Reraise preflop even when you\'re behind?
How many hands do you have on the PF raiser?
If that 2% number is 100% correct, then he's probably raising his top four hands: AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK. Even against a more loose raiser, I'm rarely 3-betting here. It's big multiway, I have little or no equity edge, and I'd rather see a flop before going crazy. I am going to be pretty proud of any pair I flop, and I'm gonna love a flush draw. |

If you're going to play you're probably better off to call and pump the implied odds for yourself by letting others call behind as well. If you're that confident in your read of UTG+1 then you'll know after the flop when to continue and when to dump. It think this play really relies on what kind of multi-way action you're expecting to get. The read on how much multi-way action you're expecting to get is probably more important here than a specific read on what UTG+1 is holding. |

Just call it. The draggers are nice but assuming they are way behind to your AQs before a flop is very dangerous.

Top four? hehe.... [/ QUOTE ] Yeah. 2% is likely his top four hands, or close to it. I agree with calling. |
