Default Final table... big stack confrontation

Hero (T10,400) posts SB (T500) dealt 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villain (T9,500) posts BB (T1000)

Flop T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero checks; Villian bets T1000; Hero calls.

Turn 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

???

results will follow. I think I like my line on this hand.

checkraise the turn all in if he bets over 2k

if he bets 1k raise to 7k or so.

I was kind of hoping to get a little more response on this one. I guess your suggestion is the best line.

That's the line I took. I thought the 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] was a great card to hit on the turn. He bet T2000 and I raised him all in. he quickly called with T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

River 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I came back and won the tourney.

Both of you have it right. Of course, you don't want him to fold, so you were lucky he had top pair. Then again, if he had folded he wouldn't have caught his 10% out. Rest easy though, you played it right.

I agree with Msogard on this one. Calling tells you nothing about where you stand in this hand -- if you're going to call a bet, it makes sense to take the lead and bet out on the flop. If you check it, check-raise him after he fires out. Then you'll at least have gained some information, based on his response. Calling the flop doesn't really help you (with any information).
