Table selection and how to adapt (6max 100maxNL)
Hi!
I have been thinking a bit lately of what’s a good game for my style of play. Vpip = 23-25% Pfr = 7-8% Aggression = 1.1 (this includes pre-flop, working to get this number up a bit) (Those stats only for getting you a ruff idea of my style of play) I use Pokeredge to find my games and then I get somewhat more reliable stats from pokertracker + Playerview . I have Playerview set on to define lose players at 42% + and tight players at 30% -. Then I find 3 lose players and maybe 2 average (30% - 42%) I consider it as a good table. I also want the players before me to be average -> big stacks lose players with a decent PFR (9%+) and I also prefer they to be aggressive. The players after me should ultimately be tighter with a low aggression factor with low -> average stacksizes. Those tables usually turn out to have a pre-flop average of 7-13% and the table average vpip 45%+ after getting the stats from the 40 first hands in PT/GT. My question is what do you think about those tables vs. my style of play? Is this one of the most profitable scenarios to be in? This is how a rank those table preference (starting with the most profitable) 1.Have a table Vpip above 45%. 2.Not having players (good) lose aggressive behind me. 3.Having to players before me with a decent high VPIP/PRF/AGG stats. 4.Having two big stacks before me. 5.Have a table PRF above 8%+ (Not sure if this benefits my style of play) 6.Have many 50BB+ stacks on the table 7.Not having two massive stacks behind me. Those are the reasons for leaving a table (starting with the strongest reason): 1.Having a good LAGs behind me (maybe I should adapt better after them and stay?) 2.Having a low table average Vpip. 3.Having to many players with high aggression numbers. 4.Having to many shorts stacks at the table. I also have some questions how I should adapt to a table that is in general: My definitions for the table average: Tight = less then 35% Vpip Loose = Above 45% Vpip Aggressive = Post-flop agg of many players above 2.5 Passive = Post-flop agg of many players under 1.5 Loose / Aggressive: Should I play a bit more passive here and maybe limp with a few more hands or should I tighten up and only play premiums hands? Loose / passive: Recon my style should be ok here, play tight and try to be aggressive then you get involved in a pot. Tight / aggressive: Just leave Tight / passive: Have been leaving those tables before, but recon I should stay and open up my raising requiems a bit? Another aspect is the PRF %, should I be raising more in a table with low % and less in a table with high or the same for both? Have a miss something to look out for then using Playerview, should I concentrate more on went to showdown % stats, is there a better method of finding good tables? etc. Any comments are welcome as usual. |
