Default Did selection of Best Man and ushers cause any problems with friends?

I always wondered about this, and I know a ton of you on this board are married.

I have a pretty clear choice for my best man, but I have about 7 total best friends. Then I have 2 brothers. My girlfriend (and most likely soon to be wife) has 5 brothers, and out of respect I will have to have atleast 1 of them.

I can see this being a huge headache, especially if I am limited to just 3 or 4 guys. Did this create problems for anyone else in their wedding?

I disagree. I would feel honored to be in any of my good friends' wedding party.

You can only have 1 best friend.

Yeah, I know not one of them would make an issue at all, but I am pretty sure whoever didnt get 'picked' would be a little surprised, even though they all know I cant pick that many.

Let me clarify. I have a group of 7 guy friends that I have known from at least freshman year highschool, and most of them earlier. They are just really good/close friends, technically speaking.

sure, it's cool. i have been in 2 of my friends' wedding parties. it's a great time.

but if somehow i wasn't picked, and i knew the guy had other friends too, and couldn't possibly pick us all, it would be no biggie for sure. that's what my original comment was all about.

Gotcha... I wouldn't be insulted either.

Same with me.

Which is pretty much why I'd just pick one at random from like the top 3 of my friends.

It hasn't yet, but I can definitely see this becoming a problem for me. Maybe have a small wedding, and a ridiculous reception or something.
