Tommy Angelo Fantasy Hand vs Mason ... Help
Ok, I just saw this in Mid-High:
AA on Button [ QUOTE ] I've played a dozen times with Mason but it's been a while, not since I somewhat started somewhat playing somewhat like him. In my fantasy it goes like this. Mason and I both get pocket aces. He is in the BB and I am on the button. Everyone folds to me and I limp. The SB folds, and Mason checks. The flop is 2-2-2. Mason checks and I check. The turn is a 2. Mason checks and I check. The river is a 3. Mason bets, and I respectfully just call. During the chopping of the pot, I speak for the first time in decades and I say, "Bad bet on the river, Mason." And he says, Yeah, I know." Tommy [/ QUOTE ] Perhaps I'm giving a gag far too much thought, but I really want to understand this riddle. What is the bad beat? I'm much too timid to actually post in that forum so I'm asking here. |

Re: Tommy Angelo Fantasy Hand vs Mason ... Help
It's a bad bet, not a bad beat. It's a bad bet because Tommy will only call with a hand that ties Mason, so there's no value in betting, though the comment is mostly a toungue-in-cheek remark at Tommy and Mason's respective playing styles.

ARGH, so much thought I could have saved by just CAREFULLY re-reading it. I must have read that line 10 times and still read bad "beat". Groan.
