I have been playing mainly small NL cash games (.25/.50) and tourneys in the home game environment, but would like to play 3/6 limit hold em at my local B&M casino.
I have read most of the NL books out there (SS, HOH, Ciaffone, etc.) plus I have read TOP. The only limit book I have is WLHE by Jones. What advice would give me the best way to move from NL to limit? Should I read Jones' book a couple of times and play, or should I read it a couple of times, move on to SSHE and then play? What should be my plan of attack? Thanks. |

To practice for BM 3/6 you should start playing Party .5/1 (they are about the same in difficulty). Definitely get SSHE and start playing. Read, think, play, repeat. Start reading the micro-limit forums. SSHE should be easier for you to digest if you have already played poker for a while.

You should get SSHE right away. There are some concepts you won't understand the first time, but there is lots of good advice that beginners can use as well.
IMO, if you have a decent grasp of TOP, you probably don't need to read WLLH at all. |

Read HE4AP and SSHE. Then read HE4AP many many more times. I reread HE4AP more than I reread any other poker book (ToP included

HPFAP principles will rarely apply to B&M 3/6 games. Most B&M 3/6 games are loose as heck, and SSH principles should be applied.

Well, it appears the vote is that I skip WLHE and move right to SSHE. I have decided to order SSHE.
Any other opinions? Seems like most people play limit first and then go to NL. For some reason I am really having a tough time transitioning to limit from NL. Hopefully SSHE will help clear things up for me. |

I think you should really read WLLH first and then SSH. SSH can be a daunting read without some limit experience. It's not a beginner's book.

If you can beat the .25/.50 on Stars then you can beat the .50/1 on Party. The .50/1 full tables on Stars are awful, don't even bother playing them.
