Re: AJ on a rag board.
eh, pot's small, you don't have position you're beat by any pair and better A's. I might even fold on the turn and move on.
(alternate aggressive line against LAG: c/r the flop, bet out the turn. Fold to a raise.) |

Re: AJ on a rag board.
I was told folding on the flop is wrong by a very good poker player.

Re: AJ on a rag board.
I like CRing the flop, and then that's the last bet I'll put in without improvement.

Re: AJ on a rag board.

I bet out on the flop. Then, if you are raised, you won't feel so bad about folding the turn. [/ QUOTE ] This is very read dependant (which is unfortuanatly absent in this hand) but I think against a lot of players betting out on this flop is asking to get raised. I think the aggression shown from a flop check-raise gives hero the best chance of taking it down (of course hero would have to follow up with a turn bet). Again, it's read dependant. Against some I might check-raise the flop and against others I might check fold and against very tight raisers I'm not sure I'd even see the flop. |

of course hero would have to follow up with a turn bet [/ QUOTE ] I disagree. If we check the turn here, and don't improve on the river and the villan bets in to us, I think Hero can safely fold. The villan isn't likely to be on a bluff here. Betting the turn again is just costing us 1 extra bet to get to the river. |

I guess there's two ways to look at it, C/R to look at the river for free or C/R and follow up to hope to take it down right there. Instinctively if I decided to C/R I'd probably follow up. C/R for a free card strikes me as FPS right away, but when I think about it more it makes sense <----Edit, more thought makes me think it makes less sense. carry on. |
