AA, lot\'s of action on the flop
Party $55 sng. early in the tourney, 6th or 7th hand. Everyone is around t1000. Blinds are 10/15.
I'm dealt AA in late position. EP makes it t55, MP calls, I make it 200, they both call. Pot is now 625. Flop is 9TJ rainbow. EP goes allin, MP instantly called. What's the play and why? |

Re: AA, lot\'s of action on the flop
Fold. If the EP hasn't you beat, the MP probably does. He doesn't go all-in himself, he just calls.

there is no way, in your right mind you could ever consider making that call...why? because you are beat!

I folded cause I'm by far the worst player to ever play the game of No limit Texas hold'em. EP shows AJ, MP shows KJ, neither improve and the AJ takes it down with a pair of jacks. Why do I suck so much at poker?

You instacall. If beat, you say gg, and sign up for the next one.

Re: AA, lot\'s of action on the flop
Agreed. I don't see why the OPs want you to fold here, that is horrible advice IMO. Maybe the $55s are different, but from the quality of player at <$55 there is no way I would ever fold that.

Re: AA, lot\'s of action on the flop
What hands are you putting the bettor and caller on? I thought there was a decent chance I had the bettor beat, The hand I put him on was AJ, with KQ an unlikely second hand. The caller I thought had a monster, to call a huge bet with a likely call behind him. I'm not saying calling is wrong, but I like to hear reasoning why you think it's correct.

Re: AA, lot\'s of action on the flop
I'd estimate that in situation like this, AA will win the pot maybe 25% of the time. It seems like every time I make a call like this, I'm beat. It was early and I had a lot of chips, therefore folding I thought was correct.

Re: AA, lot\'s of action on the flop
The EP preflop raiser could have AJ, KJ, KK, QQ, AA. Also, he couldn't go all in with the nut straight here. He would check it to you, since you re-raised preflop. I say you almost certainly have the All bettor beaten.
The all in caller makes me uneasy here, but the truth is that you're going to have him beat way more than 1/3 of the time, which is all you need to make the call correct. |

In the $11s I call this all the time, and if I lose start another SnG.
