The online poker, develop the player\'s senses?
I think that the poker is a game with influence of the luck. If you don't have good cards, it is useless your wisdom. In the poker face to face, you can see the face and the opponent's expressions. In this case, your psychology is important. In the Online Poker, your only has your decision, if the cards are not good. That is to say, good cards or you intimidate the opponent. :confused

Re: The online poker, develop the player\'s senses?
I understand what you are saying, despite the fact it seems English is not your first language, or you are not on your first drink of the night.
You're saying that there is much less skill in online poker than real life, as you cannot see the players and their reactions. I disagree. For one, most people who think they can read players in real life in fact cannot. Also, online poker retains almost all of the skills and nuances of real-life poker, as well as many extra bonuses. So I would say that you are wrong, and maybe a little dissillusioned with online poker... Don't dismiss it, it's just as valid as B&M play... And anyways, I'd much prefer to play in my underwear with a beer, which they don't look kindly upon in casinos in my experience... |

But that doesn't mean that there isn't skill in reading people. It means that it requires a lot of skill. That's why people are able to do it so poorly and think they are doing it well. And this element is gone in online play. He is right. Online poker is interesting in spite of this because poker is such a complex game that you can take away one element of it and have it still be interesting, but he is right that online poker loses one of the more interesting and skillful aspects of the game. |

Re: The online poker, develop the player\'s senses?
Sure, I completely agree that some people are able to read players and it adds an immense edge to their game if they are good enough at it. I was not suggesting for a minute that no-one can actually read as well as they think they can. The point I was making was that a lot of people who think they are amazing at reading players/tells are actually no good at it at all.
And yes, the other point I was making was that despite the loss of this element from online play, it is still poker, no more, no less. I consider online play just as valuable as real life play, as well as being more profitable for me personally. |
