Default Considering renting a house in AC...conerns/questions about location

Hello Everyone,

Some freinds and I are planning a trip to AC, going about the route of renting a house to accomidate ~10 people for the weekend. It cut costs, comfort, etc...

So, we found one house that's near AC, but there are concerns about its location. Have been there before, and there are many "less than desirable" parts of town surrounding The Boardwalk/Marina...

Anyway, the house we're looking at is in the "Chelsea Beach Block" area of AC. Does anyone know anything about this area? Should we be concerned? Any suggestions of other areas?

Thanks in Advance.

-Mike

This area is where I am located.

It is south of the Hilton. At least the Chelsea district of AC.
Blocks 3600- Blocks 4800 (Border of AC and Ventnor).
Not all houses in this area are the same, but if you are looking to house 10 and the site is big enough then I know that there are houses on the Southern end of Chelsea which could do that trick. This area is much better than the Marina area. There are new developments in the Marina area but they are not of the House for 10 type!

I'm on the Broadwalk so that strip is classified separately!

This is correct. We are looking at a specific house in the Chelsea Beach area, and are concerned about the location of said house.

Just want to be safe is all.

Area is variable...

The closer to Ventnor the better.

Closer to Route US40 then you get more of the Hispanic and Casino worker area.

Let me (try to) post a pic of the house. It's pretty unique looking -- maybe you'll recognize it?

PS - Thanks for your insight, very helpful.

Looks like you're looking for a hook to start finger pointing.

The Chelsea Area is multi-ethnic area. The housing nearer to US R40 and in the areas around Arctic Ave towards the AC expressway is also multi-ethnic.

The housing is not as nice as the above picture. This means that the cost of rent are cheaper. Hence it will attract many of the Casino workers (not your poker dealers) who do low paying remedial worker. It exists!

And these people have to live somewhere. Then again there are posters here who confuse these areas as places where they wouldn't walk at night!!! I hope you're not one of them!

No, I'll agree, you pretty much wrote,

Venator Area = good
Hispanics = bad

I know they're not though ... I have a lot of hispanic friends.
