AQo hand -- not sure of play
Villain is 14/10/2.7 over 29 hands.
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (8 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises, 2 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, BB calls. Flop: (6.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) BB bets, Hero raises, CO folds, BB calls. My raise here was to isolate the BB and perhaps clean up some outs. Correct or no? Turn: (5.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero 3-bets, BB caps, Hero calls. Villain's SnG + C/R confused me a little. I don't believe he's pushing a set on me (unless he slowplayed AA until now, but I doubt that). Perhaps a two pair with the Ace. River: (13.25 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls. I hit top two pair. With my line of thinking that he had two pair, I figured raising here was correct. If he had 3-bet, I would have called. Final Pot: 17.25 BB |

Re: AQo hand -- not sure of play
Why would you what to isolate a seemingly solid player? I would just take on off the flop.
I feel you overplayed the turn. |

Re: AQo hand -- not sure of play
He is screaming at you that he has ATo or some other hand better than TPGK on the turn. Why are you 3-betting this?

Re: AQo hand -- not sure of play
On the flop, neither of your outs are dirty in a way that you can clean them up. The Q doesn't complete a straight and no one is folding AT or A7. I raise this flop sometimes, though, but it's to get a cheap look at the river, if need be.
If I do raise, I'm not 3-betting the turn check raise, but I would raise the river. Usually my play in this hand is: Call the flop. If he bets the turn, I raise. If he 3-bets, I call down. If he checks, I bet. If he check raises, I call down. |

Re: AQo hand -- not sure of play
I would fold on this flop. Is this a leak? What's the reasoning for drawing to overcards with a pretty small pot? Is it because we think we might still be ahead?
