Check-raise bluff effectiveness on the river?
Under what conditions is it +EV to check-raise bluff the river?
On a scare board? Against a weak tight player? Against a tight aggressive player? Against a loose aggressive player? Against a weak loose player? I have an image as a passive/aggressive tight player. Because the looser players try to push me around, I tend to slowplay my hands more because usually they respect my raises much more, and thus any action from me usually results in folds. I play mainly home games, some casino, and venturing now into online. |

I generally wouldn't do it unless I've been seen CR a couple times before (preferably on the river) and shown down something like the nuts or 2nd nuts. What you want to do is find the person that loves to steal pots when its checked to him but has shown ability to fold when played back at. |

Re: Check-raise bluff effectiveness on the river?
Make it a fairly sizeable bluff also most people wont CR the river for peanuts since its a risky play if the hand is checked through.
