As a sort of follow up to MLG's post about picking up the pot I thought I would post a few hands. Each of these I felt I probably should of won more than I did,but at the same time I'm not having the best of runs at the moment so confidence isn't what it normally is.
All the following from a $22 rebuy on stars. At each stage I had an average stack. Hand 1,blinds 200/400 : Tight player(16000),but capable of a blind steal raises to 1200,me(25000) with KK on button makes it another 2000 to go,he folds. Hand 2 : blinds 400/800 (+ante) LAG player (20k) makes it 3200 to go 1 away from the cutoff,me(30K) on the button makes it another 4k to go,he folds. hand 3 : Blinds 300/600 with ante Tight player(45000) raises to 1400 UTG (suspicious raise) folded to me in middle position with AKs (34K) I decide to call, Flop is A 2 4 rainbow, UTG leads out for 2.8K (roughly 6k in pot) I raise another 4k and she folds. I think the 3rd hand is one i could of milked for more, but she could well have shut down if I flat call the flop. Ironically I busted out the tourney making a move on Pete Giordano after he flopped a set But maybe I should of had more chips by then??? |

hand 1: what position was PFR in? i'd probably make it a little more, but would've been same result.
hand 2: what'd you have? hand 3: i prefer a smooth-call. you're not concerned about a free card. try to let TT first another barrel. probably check behind on the turn to set up a river value bet. |

Hand 1: The problem isn't that he folded, but that you aren't reraising him more often.
Hand 2: Same as hand 1 Hand 3: Reraise preflop to about $4000. Be happy when she folds. |
