Default Made my first Royal Flush - on the flop - half an hour too late.

We've been playing for hours and hours. Both my opponent and myself have built up big stacks. Then the casino closes and we decide to go back to someone's house to continue playing. Because it is a 'new game' everyone pigeonholes their money and pulls up the minimum buy-in.

Opponent raises pre-flop. I find K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and re-raise all-in (he's been raising with rubbish last few hands and I'm prepared to gamble to build up my short stack). He calls and says he's got Aces. We turn our cards over 'for the spectators' and I tell him that I hope the first card is the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Amazingly enough it is - giving him trips. The next two cards are, you've guessed it, the J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and the T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

So I made my first royal flush and doubled up. But if this had happened an hour before we would both have had huge stacks and I might have won a massive pot, especially if the board had paired on the turn or river.

So was I lucky, or unlucky?
