40/80 Hand 3 KK blind steal
saturday afternoon game, decent game.
SB is a rather odd fellow. He once coldcapped 77, but then also once played the flopped seconds nuts pretty passively claiming he was afraid of a higher flush raised on the flop. no read on the bb though. Folded to me on the button with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and raise. SB 3-bets. BB calls. I cap. They call. 3 to the flop for 12 small bets. Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets. BB calls. I raise. SB 3-bets. BB calls. I cap. Turn: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB bets. BB calls. Who likes to call and who likes to raise? |

Re: 40/80 Hand 3 KK blind steal
I think I would raise it one more time and call down if 3-bet from sb and consider folding if 3-bet from bb. This way we charge the flush draw and the sb is probably committed to showdown with TT, JJ, and QQ.

Call here and raise the river.

Re: 40/80 Hand 3 KK blind steal
Do you advocate this because you think that the villan is capaple of folding a smaller pp or because you think that he will be unable to 3-bet AA on the river. Does this out weigh the cheaper card you give the bb.

Re: 40/80 Hand 3 KK blind steal
I don't know. This problem has too many variables for me. One problem I see with raising the turn is that if SB threebets you lose the BB if he has a 9 (probably) but you also cost yourself another bet in a hand that it sure looks like you're losing.
If you raise the river it is a lot tougher for him to threebet, then again he might threebet the turn with a hand you beat. I want to change my answer to raise the turn, call a threebet from SB. Call down. Your hand's good enough for this IF the SB will play any overpair like this. But he probably wouldn't... -Michael |

IF the SB will play any overpair like this. But he probably wouldn't... [/ QUOTE ] I really don't think he would, either. I am using his fear of the higher flush as a better indicator of his play here than a PF coldcap with 77. It seems much more directly comparable: If he had QQ or JJ, he would "be afaid of a higher pair." I call down here. Is that totally weak? |

Re: 40/80 Hand 3 KK blind steal
I think the bb probably has something like A9, 77-jj, hoping to showdown cheap, Two spades hoping to draw cheap, or a flopped full/quads praying that you raise turn. The sb most likely has an overpair, AQ [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], or is having one of those random agression spurts with something strange. In short I don't give him credit for aces in this steal situation until I am 3-bet on the turn. That doesn't neccesarily mean we should raise but I think I would.

Call here and raise the river. -Michael [/ QUOTE ] That, like everything else I have read from you, is the worst advice ever. This isn't a debatable play at all, you raise. |

Sigh. Welcome back.
I already agreed with you. No more responses from me, Friend, I promise. These are good people here and I've already contributed enough to mucking up the board by trying to deal with you. -Michael |
