if i make it through without going to sleep it will be the first time i've seen it since becoming a poker-player.
i already am liking it (as I did the previous times I've seen it). how on earth is this from the same guys who did Tilt? |

you put damon, norton, landeau and malkovich in Tilt and it would still be terrible.
you put the actors who play eddie, clark, miami, matador and even the nickel stare-down guy into a fairly smart film like rounders and it would still be pretty decent. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I doubt this. Great acting > Great writing. [/ QUOTE ] So wrong. [/ QUOTE ] Proof please. [/ QUOTE ] "The Score". Ed Norton, Robert De Niro, and Marlon Brando. The greatest actors of three generations producing a film that is remembered or liked by exactly no one. vs. Even Keanu Reeves couldn't make the Wachowski brothers' writing in the first "Matrix" movie uninteresting. Ben Affleck couldn't f--k up "Good Will Hunting". "Henry V" and "Hamlet" are still gonna be "Henry V" and "Hamlet" no matter what schmuck is reciting soliloquoys. Now, give me good writing AND good acting. Pacino, Spacey, Jack Lemmon, and Ed Harris + David Mamet script = Glengarry Glen Ross. THAT movie is a confluence of talent and excellence if ever there was one. |

Re: Rounders on FX tonight at 2am est *nm*
If a great story is acted poorly the story can at least be interesting.
If a great story is acted "okay," it is entertaining. If a great story is acted well, it is a good movie, tv show, etc. If a piss-poor story is acted great, its still a piss poor movie, tv, show, etc. Look at half of the movies released in hollywood for examples. |
