Strategy/Importance of learning new games

I've been focusing on NLHE SnGs and MTTs the past five months, and am interested in adding the following ring games to my repertoire, in this order:

1. NLHE
2. LHE
3. Stud
4. Omaha
5. Omaha/8

I've begun playing the first two, and see a huge difference b/w Limit and No-limit.

It seems like most of the people on this forum are specialists, but I'm interested in hearing opinions on the best way to incorporate new games into your play, or if it's even a good idea.

Thoughts? BTW I have an account at Party and Stars; Stars has a lot of low-limit games in these games that wouldn't hurt my bankroll.

I am learning Omaha and Stud just because I am interested in knowing more games then HE. SS2 has sections on Omaha, Stud, and Triple draw... which is good because I wasn't impressed with the NL section.

I enjoy learning the aspects of new games, so I am always reading about other games on the side, even though right now I play mostly LHE. I have dabbled in Triple draw, O8, and 7 stud. I think the main reason to learn extra games is to be able to play in the most profitable game possible at a given time. I found that almost from the beginning it is hard to lose at O8 at the lower limits, because even though you might not be that good, most people have incredibly bad misconceptions about the game in general. I am probably going to work on O8 and maybe add in NLH ring games as well (and PLO farther down the road). I have had some success in tounaments, but right now I am more focused on cash games, because I think my variance is somewhat lower than playing a bunch of MTTs and SnGs.

i have played every game on every site i have an account at - i have a staple game(s) but nearly everyday i play i will spend an hour or so playing something else

i think that playing all the games is great for my general poker ability - my favourite non staple games are the paradise draw games - i think draw provides fantastic perspective for other games - for example i struggle to accept anything a non draw player tells me about bluffing
