Sometimes you just shouldn\'t sit down (no content)...
All of these hands happened within 3-4 minutes of each other. I left shortly after.

Though, I'm sure mistakes abound. |

I think you played well. I am impressed you were able to stop playing after that though. Good move, reminds me of Doyle's checklist for choosing when to play in Poker Wisdom of a Champion.
[ QUOTE ] (7) Do you feel you're going to win? If NO, don't play. Give credibility to your hidden feelings. Your subconscious mind might be analyzing things you're not aware of. [/ QUOTE ] I would have lost a ton more or worse. Winning less on future hands than I should have by changing my playing style. As it is easy to get passive after a few hits like this. |

Re: Sometimes you just shouldn\'t sit down (no content)...
Thanks for the comments.
Luckily, I'm pretty good at turning off emotion so I can shrug things off fairly easily. I also don't tend to tilt, no matter how pissed off I get. I couldn't help but laugh after that first hand, because one of the players was berating the PFR for calling two cold on the flop, yadayada. I was tempted to say his set wouldn't have been good anyway, but I behaved myself. That quote is definitely applicable. There are some sessions where you just know the cards won't come. This was one of them; there will be plenty more in the future. There's no need to get hung up on one piece of an enormous jig-saw puzzle, in my opinion. |
