Default Please help--Online shuffling smells fishy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been playing Absolute Poker for a while now and have been experiencing (and hearing a lot of complaints about) what seems to be a slightly rigged system--crazy flops, monster hands getting beat far more than normal, etc.

Any truth to this? Any strategies for beating the system?? And I've heard the standby that you "just see more hands online"...

thanks, and good pot odds!!

Online poker is not rigged. Failure to accept this will very much inhibit the development of your game. People in this forum have little tolerance for claims like this. Just a warning.

a lot of time when I have 3 of a kind, other people have a higher 3 of a kind. so I usually fold.

same goes for flushes.

also, read the "pattern mapper thread". that will assuage many of your fears.

Default thank you--and clarification

My apologies to anybody who mistook me for acusing online betting of being rigged. I asked my question (instead of jumping to the wrong conclusion) and it was answered. thanks cdy.

However, it would seem I need to change my strategy for playing STTs online instead of a home game...Any advice would be appreciated.

Buy a good book, then buy another good one. Also, it helps to read them

I suggest, as much as I hate contributing to their coffers, Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players - Sklansky and Malmuth. If this is too technical for you try Lee Jones - Winning low limit Hold'em

This is a mostly serious post...

Of course you need to make adjustments. Players online will play horrible and still be better than your friends at your home poker night. Read the 1 table tournament forum constantly. Read all of the archives. Get a feel for who the best posters are and read their posts.

Good luck

I always thought it smelled like a tangy chicken stir-fry with extra ginger.
