What a great question. It has never been asked before. I'm absolutely positive that the search function will not turn up anything.

I know it sucks but try using the search function. It has been covered a few times already in this forum. If you can find some of the old threads they have some good info in them. Good luck.

I was quietly napping at my desk when my sarcasm detector went off, registering a Level Six tremor. Try and keep it down will you, some people are still at work, trying to rest up for this evening.

Yes, because it is not spread much (if at all) at casinos anymore.

The chapter on NL is basically the same, although Brunson does give an overview on the different phases of a tournament and recommends his style for "Final tables and cash games." The Limit revision by Jennifer Harmon was very imformative as was Caro's MCU contribution. I was mostly impressed with Negraunu's section on Triple Draw. There are also sections on 7Stud Hi-Low by Todd Brunson, Pot-Limit Omaha by Lyle Berman, and Omaha EOB by BObby Baldwin that I have yet to read.

All in all it's worth a purchase, just don't buy it for NL section, you will be dissapointed.

Hope this helps.

If you own SS the only major change in the NL chapter is that there aren't words bolded and italicized in every paragraph.

The limit chapter was decent. Nothing earth shattering. If you've read a few books already it has nothing new.

I found the PLO chapter to be an excellent introductory text.

Triple draw was good, though perhaps I am biased because it's a game I love and nothing even remotely decent had seen print before as far as I know.

In general the book should be compared to texts such as Hellmuth's Play Poker Like the Pros. It beats that book up like a red headed stepchild. Comparing any of the chapters individually against complete books on that game means that the chapter comes up short. No matter how good you are at a game you can't give as thorough a lesson in 60-80 pages as you can in 300.

Yes it's certainly dead in casinos. I just thought there was a slight chance they would have kept it, maybe putting it in the back of the book, since draw poker is so popular in home games.

I could not find anything new or interesting in Harman's section on limit, and Doyle's NL section assumes the game has antes (I can't believe he didn't rewerite it).

The best sections were Todd Brunson's 7-Stud 8/b and the TDL section by Danny Neigro(Negreanu). Mark Gergorich/Bobby Baldwin's Omaha 8/b section was decent, I have heard that beginners like the PLO section, but I thought it sucked and didn't offer any real insight.
