I found some of the best games I've seen this year in the wee morning hours (EST). I added 12 people to my buddy list and enjoyed a profitable session, but I also collected bad beats like candy.

Good lord. I see this kind of thing more often than I would imagine it possible. How is a guy like MP3 who cold calls a preflop raise with 25o and then calls bets all the way down drawing to a (non-nut hand) gutshot straight still able to continue playing for any length of time before running out of money? Incredible.

In his defense, he limped preflop and got raised rather than cold-calling, but yes, he was one of the primary donators at the table [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I've only been playing 2/4 a short time, but I've been surprised that there remain a sizeable number of questionable players there -- a lot more so than 1/2 full, which I suppose is not a surprise to most on this board. They just seem to be more aggressive/bluffer types than loose-passive ones.

Yep. But for the most part, the players who play 30% and up of their hands are pretty good post flop. They can c/r bluff a non threatening (they always assume you have AK) flop. I have definetly found 50% vpipers who can outplay me on the flop. Sorta scary.

Actually, MP1 played this hand fine post-flop, IMO. Obviously raising, then capping with 44 pf is ridiculous, but on the flop hes getting 23:1 to hit his 2 outer which is slightly less than break-even but the implied odds make up for it. On the turn he picks up 4 more outs so now is getting 14.5:1 to hit is set or straight which is fine. On the river he hits his one of the 6 outs. By building the pot pf, he actually played it well post.

I'm still adjusting to the increased aggression, so I'll probably want to postpone a final judgement, but it seems to me there's a difference between good postflop play and plain vanilla aggressive postflop play. I'm sure that I've folded the best (A-high type) hand more than once because of it, but that's typically in small pots, whereas the same person will spew chips with J-high when I actually do have a big pair.

I'd actually be interested in hearing about adjustments micro players have made to compensate for increased aggression in small stakes. I suppose I should make a post about it sometime [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
