Scary turn with a big field
UTG+2 is terrible (stays with any pair to the river and will sometimes raise with bottom pair, ect.) but should I still play this hand out like I did given the turn and the large field?
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, 1 fold, MP3 calls, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (7 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7 players) SB bets, BB folds, Hero raises, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, SB calls. Turn: (8.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+2 bets, MP3 calls, CO calls, SB folds, Hero calls. River: (12.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero checks, UTG+2 bets, MP3 folds, CO calls, Hero calls. Final Pot: 15.50 BB |

Re: Scary turn with a big field
I think it's fine: you've got the implied odds to draw to your FH on the turn and I think the river is a crying call, though I'd love for someone to tell me to fold the river so I can stop leaking bets.

Re: Scary turn with a big field
I understand there's a possible straight on the board, but I would have bet the turn.

Re: Scary turn with a big field
I would bet the turn. Sometimes you'll get reraised with someone with a straight, but otherwise your bet is for value against hands like A8,AT,AJ,KQ etc.

[/ QUOTE ] Do not raise pf out of position with this hand (maybe not in position either<-- case dependant). A bet is for value when The likelihood that you have the best hand is greater than the amount of $ you are putting into the pot. eg: you are ahead 40% of the time, betting with 2 likely callers. A crying call is when you are likely behind, but call anyways because you will be good a certain percentage of the time based on pot size. In this hand 1/14.5 times. |

[/ QUOTE ] you got the good ol fashioned immediate odds here, its a 10.5/1(exact same thing as a gutshot draw) but you have to bet the turn, since you didn't it looks to me like you are very weak-tight and back down whenever there is a scare card, you aren't behind on the turn very often at all |
