JJ Hand to Talk About
BB and UTG are too loose and too passive. SB just sat down. I would like comments on the flop raise and the turn fold.
Preflop: Hero is MP2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, SB 3-bets, BB calls, UTG calls, Hero caps, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls. Flop: (16 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) SB bets, BB calls, UTG calls, Hero raises, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls. Turn: (12 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB raises, BB calls, UTG folds, Hero folds. |

Re: JJ Hand to Talk About
I'm just a little microer, but I'd be tempted to call it down against an unknown. To me, it seems like a close call, but let's wait to hear what the real poker players have to say about the hand.

Re: JJ Hand to Talk About
I don't usually cap with JJ. Other than that, I would play this hand the same way.

Re: JJ Hand to Talk About
somewhat of a read dependent call but I fold this against an unknown, don't cap preflop.

Re: JJ Hand to Talk About
I'd probably call down turn and river blanks if I can do it for one bet at a time, but folding right away might be best against a straightforward opponent. His betting into you after you've capped generally indicates a lot of strength. It's not a raise for value there on the flop and you won't fold out any hands that you'd like to fold.

Would your answer change if the BB and UTG weren't in there calling? I don't like the flop raise very much now either.

I don't usually cap with JJ. [/ QUOTE ] I think you have to cap here. Capping in this situation gives you a lot of information about SB hand...since you have position, you are forcing him to bet into your preflop cap, which generally indicates an extremely strong hand. -ropey |

somewhat of a read dependent call but I fold this against an unknown, don't cap preflop. [/ QUOTE ] I think you have to cap preflop...especially because of your position. Force your opponent to bet into your preflop cap...Against a remotely normal opponent, he will not do this without a very strong hand. -ropey |
