I thought it could save me a bet and also it kept him from taking a free card.

I suck right now so take this FWIW. I 100% agree with the fold you made in that spot, but I don't know if I don't just check-fold the turn. I guess if you had a read that he'd be aggro with second pair in that spot then fine, bet-fold makes sense. I'm also losing money with suited aces, and this, while not an ace, seems similar.

I dont know how you can put him on QJ, specifically.

I tend to agree with a turn check/fold rather than a bet/fold, at least after this blank turn card falls. I do see how it's easier to fold your hand with a better conscience using your line, but losing an extra BB to assuage any second-guessing just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Didn't you hear me say I suck right now? And now you're agreeing with me? Makes me feel, I don't know, worse.

I think thats how you have to play it. No use paying him two bets when you know for sure your beat with one. Playing top pair terrible kick is very hard out of position.
