Default I suck, please teach

I have a relatively tight image, have done nothing out of line-I really hate how I played the turn-please comment thanks- also villian is more solid than average player at this level.

Seems like a fine play to me. Just cause you have top set doesn't mean you will double through. You got him to put a nice bluff in there and took down a good size pot.

yeah, maybe I am being results oriented but immediately I thought maybe just calling his turn raise would have been better.

If he was semi-bluffing a draw there and you just smooth call, when he hits his draw on the river and stacks you, then you'd really be complaining.

yeah you are right I mean dont think I played this hand disasterously and it was a pretty big pot to take down, just maybe thought there were more optimal lines

Your reraise to 500 is good. I might have just gone all in, but generally your line is the right idea.

Am I wrong in thinking that this shouldn't be that much of a concern if you did decide to just call his raise because you will fill up or make quads more often (or as often if he has gut-shot as well) then he makes most of his draws. Unless for some odd reason he got this far with 6s8s then he will make his draw slightly more often than you would.

This is not to say the turn raise isn't the right play, just curious? Is it because you are unlikely to get any more money out of the pot if the board pairs even if they hit their draw?

i think the flop bet was a little too small..a 30$ dollar or 50$ flop bet makes big differnce on the later streets,
