Why are people so cheap?

Okay so my rich friend said he'd pay for a 3,577 dollar trip if i put in 1400 he'd put in the rest..he has over 20k in his personal account and his dad is ridulously rich...now his telling me his giving me 2k and i have to pay for the rest...he says he doesnt want to be a used car sales man or some crap...but heres the thing i said i am only going on this trip if it cost 1,400 and now his screwing me over for this 177 after i charged the whole amount....what is it about people....am i missing vsomething...lesson to be had...you cant even believe your best friend? I know this doesnt have to do with poker but wow people really suck anyone else agree...disagree?

Disagree. It seems to me that you are pissed off at SOMEONE WHO IS GIVING you $2000.

Next time pay for the whole thing yourself and there won't be a problem.

You should just tell him off and be done with it! Why put up with a raking like that? Some friend...who needs friends like that anyway.

There is the old story about the people on a street corner. One day a man walked up and gave each of them $10.00 (this is an old story). This went on a for a few months and one day the Man didn't show up. A few people in the group started complaining, "Where is that Man with my $10.00?"

It's more of the princple thatwe had an agreement if i pay 1,400 i would go he agreed to pay the difference now his backing out which makes me angry but nothing i can do about it...thats why im mad....lesson to be learned dont trust even ur closest friends when it comes to money.

He trapped you by raising to just $1,400, then put you all-in for $177 more.

You are pot-committed, I think you have to call.

Seriously, this trip will be worth far more than the extra $177 will cost you. The experience of spending the time with your best friend will be worth ten times that, at least. If, of course, you can put this behind you and still be friends with him.
