vegas stud
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I thought since the post is in reference to stud, that I would post it here.
Im going to be making my first trip out to vegas soon, and I have a few questions about the stud games in Vegas. I know certain cardrooms have stud games running frequently, ie Bellagio, but how long does it take to get in a game? Also is this stud hi only or do they have stud 8 games spread regularly as well? Any other cardrooms that would be worth looking into? Ive also been trying to find weekly stud 8 tournaments in Vegas, and Im not having much luck, but then again I dont really know where to look. Also, do they run stud 8 WSOP satellites? And if they do, are these all SnGs or do they have super sats as well? For someone who has only played stud online, is there anything that I need to know about B&M stud that I wouldnt know from just playing stud online? Sorry for all the newb questions, and if this needs to be moved to the B&M forum I can post it there. Aicirt |

You may want to call and ask. Also, the Taj Mahal probably spreads games. At a lot of places they will spread any game as long as there is interest. |

Re: vegas stud
Here's my advice.. Vegas rules. Stud is dead out there. Play hold 'em. Hold 'em is fun, and it moves faster in a casino, and you don't have to worry about seeing/remembering your opponents cards when you're drinking. The hold 'em players are flat out terrible. Also, if you regularly play stud, why not take a break and play a different game? BEER |

Re: vegas stud
If you really want to go to Vegas for Stud (shudder), the only good game you're going to find is at Bellagio. Sometimes the 20/40 is good, sometimes it's a rock garden. Ditto the 40/80. The 15/30 isn't any good unless you're a really loose, imaginative player.
Forget Mirage, those Stud games have gone sour, unless you hit them at some miraculous moment in time. There are no Stud or Stud 8 tourneys anywhere in Vegas. Orleans cancelled the last of them a year ago. There will be tons of one table sats for the WSOP, but not until the day before said event. As far as playing Stud live, just don't "pick up" your cards. Not your holecards, not your board cards. Don't rearrange your cards, either. Protect your holecards from the dealer mucking them by putting a chip on top of them. When you get your holecards, memorize both of them, suit and rank, then don't look back. Good luck!
