Default Deeper stacks, careful with top pair .. well ?

Villain not very good, 50 VPIP, 40 PFR on 15ish hands.
I don't know if I was laying it down against 30-35 VPIP anyway. How do you like the check-call line ?

Comments appreciated as usual

Sorry man. I don't like it. I think you either

1) lead out on the flop then lead out the turn
2) check raise the flop ...check call the turn
3) check call the flop then check raise the turn

On the river, I like betting $5 and folding to a push.

You are UTG, correct?

Why no raise pf? Why no bet on the flop?

One of the benefits to smaller blinds (theoretically) is the pot will be small and you will have more room to manuever.

Also, if the players are raising it to $4 (or whatever the old standard was) it essentially wipes out the new blinds (they are playing like the blinds are bigger) so you would operate as normal...

Either way I don't understand no raise preflop or bet on the flop.

Ni han anywho, looks like you win a nice lil pot.

I would check-call the flop and check-raise the turn a little under the pot. Put the scraps in on the river.

edit: I would actually have raised preflop but given your preflop action I would let him take control on the flop and turn.

The check-call line was to catch a bluff since he looked so bad.

You wouldn't call the river push from a player with these stats ? I'm absolutely not calling a push from a 5-10 PFR, but this guy seemed .. well .. special

I don't raise AK preflop (rarely anyway), but I don't mind calling a raise with it.

Basically because of his stats, and the fact that after 15-20 hands, he's already caught my eye.

At 40% preflop raise, the guy could hold any PP, KJ, KT, AK, AQ, AJ, and much lesser crap depending on the fishiness of him.

EDIT: of course, on the flop you can narrow down his range of holdings, which most probably don't include AQ AJ and such anymore.

I felt that my line would produce the exact thing that happened, he was encouraged to overplay his hand tremendously.
