Default Caro\'s 12 Day\'s to Holdem Success

What is included in this and is it worth the read if you are not a beginner?

What poker essays out there are considered required reading?

Caro's thing is 12 "lessons". He gives you missions to accomplish at the card room and then talks about the rationale for them. I bought it but don't have it in front of me, so I can't give any examples. I definitely didn't think it was worth my time and effort or the money spent.

Get all of Mason's Poker Essays books and Bob Ciaffone's Improve Your Poker. That'll get you started.

It was written in '92 or so. The relevance is strictly B&M play for a lot of it. Lesson/Mission #1 is something like watching every hand willingly shown at showdown, if within XX range add 1 point to a count, if within another range add 2 points. At the end of an hour depending on the count you will generally know how good the table is. This gets you watching how people play/pay attention and lets you find out how good/bad the table is.

Strictly B&M stuff imho. If you are going to buy it, dont buy it from conjelco (sorry guys) for $20, you can get a bunch of videos and the book from http://www.carospokersecrets.com/ for the same price with S&H.
