Hero coldcalls and raises the turn.

Re: JJ facing monotone flop
Grudingly folds unless you have some sort of read on either villain. Another option is calling and raising on a non-[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] turn, but I think folding would be better.

Re: JJ facing monotone flop
Would you fold to a 3-bet on a spade turn?

Would you fold to a 3-bet on a spade turn? [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't put in any $$$ on a spade turn. The turn raise imples that no spade falls. |

I'd feel icky doing this. Its ok I guess, but still, icky. We have some major reverse implied odds working here. Without thinking I would have 3 bet the flop, but your play is intriguing. And icky. Hmm. -DeathDonkey |

Hero coldcalls and raises the turn. Brad [/ QUOTE ] Sorry Shill, I need a bit more help on this one. Could you elaborate when you have the chance? |

Re: JJ facing monotone flop
Fold.
The pot isn't particularly big, and both of your opponents are likely to have at least one flush card, if not made flushes. The problem is, it doesn't matter if the turn is "safe". At no point can you ever play this hand with any confidence. If someone has a flush card and an overcard you still might lose. You could get caught in the middle of a flush war when you should have folded the flop. Oh, and cold calling is horrible, regardless of the turn. If you're that intent on staying in the hand invest an extra SB and 3bet the flop and gauge you opponents reactions (do they both stay, does either of them cap). If they both smooth call and check on the turn you can evaluate your options from there. Any aggression and you get the hell out. EDIT == Just so we're clear I still think 3betting is horrid, though a shade better than cold-calling |

Re: JJ facing monotone flop
So let me get this straight. Even though there is about a 98% chance that neither of them has a flush yet, you want our hero to either fold the flop with an overpair, or fold to a three-bet when he raises? I think a cold call coupled with a raise of a safe turn card is more than appropriate.
