I just opened a neteller Instacash account and it is a pain in the @$$. The first thing you have to do is have them deposit a small amount of change into your checking account. Then you have to verify this amount online. Once you have verified is it your account you can deposit however much money into your acount and get a 8.9% fee for this Then they will prompt you to call them and verify your account by asking you a few questions. Then you will hang up and they will call you and ask you the same questions again. Then you should be good to go. Whew.

The Neteller FAQ would be a much better place to look for this answer.

Setting up an account is a bit of a pain, but it is mostly a one-time thing + is there for security reasons. I consider this a plus, as they you are giving them access to your bank account. Once you have an account set up, it is very easy to transfer money from/to your bank + poker accounts. They have various options for depositing and withdrawing money, the free options usually take 2-4 business days.

All told, I find the service very convenient + would recommend it.

Step 1: Register your bank account. They will make a small deposit to your account, and you have to report back to them what it was. After this, you'll be able to make transfers to/from your registered bank account.

Step 2: Make your first deposit. Since deposits take 4-5 days to process, you'll have to wait around before it shows up in your Neteller account. This is standard.

Step 3: When your first deposit clears, you will be sent an email telling you to call them from the phone number you signed up with. They will ask you for your account number and security question, and that will unlock your account for regular use. You will only have to call them this one time.

Neteller is useful for keeping your bankroll in one central location if you are going to play a lot of different sites and don't want to keep money in each place. If you are mostly playing at just one site, you might be able to do without Neteller and just use EFT transfers through services like IGMPay, Citadel, etc. But since it is free to use the non-Instacash bank transfers, it isn't a bad idea to open an account.

This brings up a question: can your first deposit be a withdrawl from say, Party into the Neteller account?
