He probably had the same hand, and was convinced by the river action that someone had the boat...

That is nice but not an official trifecta since your opponent put in the last bet on the turn.

Ah I didnt know this was part of the rules for the Trifecta. I woulda put in the last bet on the turn if I coulda though.
