New Orleans recommendations?

My wife and I plan on taking a short trip to New Orleans at the end of April. I hoped to play some poker for a few hours -- does anyone have any casino recommendations? Is Harrah's my best bet? How are the games there? Is there any significant change in difficulty between 2/4 and 3/6 (or higher)?

Also, if anyone has any non-gambling entertainment or dining recommendations, I'd definitely love to hear them.

harrah's has a decent small room. soft low limit games.

Harrah's is the only game in town.

If you want to be near the casino in a trendy place, stay at the W, which is right next door.

Places to eat, non-poker things to do, where does one begin? The food is great most anywhere and so is the jazz.

My personal favorites are Jacques-Imo's uptown on Oak street for real 'Nawlins food and Razoo's on Bourbon for rocking and dancing. If you're looking more upscale, any of the Emeril's places are fine, Commander's Palace as well. Go to NOLA.com and check out the entertainment section.

The poker at Harrah's is pleasantly soft. The room itself is loud, but it's the only game in the city.

Mother's on Poydras street is great for lunch. Fiorella's on Decatur street has the best fried chicken. Dinner options are way too numerous to mention, but a good rule of thumb is the further away from Bourbon Street the better (Red Fish Grill being the sole exception).

If you're there the end of April, it's also Jazz Fest time. Check out the featured music on the days you'll be in town. It's the best time of year to hear music.
