Default Why am I losing so much money from the blinds??

Hey guys, I was just checking my position stats in PT and I am losing a lot of money in the blinds!! Could you check your own stats and see if you are winning, break even, losing a little or a lot? Thanks.

no, you can only hope to lose less than the .5 BB and .25 BB that they make you pay.

EDIT: not hope. you can do it. but the best you can probably do is -.5BB < your BB winrate < 0.

No, doesn't it make complete sense to be a net loser in the blinds?

Of course it does. Maybe the best live game players could. :/

The big blind is the equivalent of having a 100% (more like 90% probably) VPIP in early position. Even the best limit players in the world can't make up for this huge deficit.

You are forced into a hand when out of position. There was an interesting thread on position and win rates discussed in the following thread:

If you work out a way to make an early position hand that you're forced to put money in on before you've seen your cards, profitable, let us know.
