Default New to NL online. Please help

Okay, I've posted in the wrong spot on this but I've been playing NL at UB for about a month. I had a great run to start but have had a huge swing over the past week or so. I've read Theory of Poker, Hold 'Em for Advanced Players, and am in the middle of Small Stakes (along with a few others). I play very well in live games. I have won several tournaments and continually take down the home games that I play in. I've been playing for about two years. Hopefully that gives you a little background on my play.

I am hoping to get some advice on the best way to build my bankroll playing online. I think the problem I am running into is that I'm very good at looking at a player during the course of a hand and knowing where they are strength-wise. Online, with only icons to look at, I can't get this feel for the players. I'm not able to spot the good/bad players quite as quickly as in a live game. I tend to play a tight/aggressive game but I think I'm making a lot of mistakes because of my lack of feel for this game. I guess my question is this: How are you identifying players online and adjusting to them? I've found that most of them take horrible odds to draw out and raise or call raises with marginal to bad hands (which should be good for me long-term). I'll try to post a few hands in the next few days, but for now I just want to know what your ideas on player profiles are.
Thanks,
G

Search for Homer's (a poster here) thread called something like "Building a Bankroll (for newbies)" or something like that. It is a really good guide to this exact thing.

Homer's Building a Bankroll (for newbies)

There's the link ToT recommended. I'd also recommend that you try out some of the free $10 promotions offered by several sites out there. The one's I know of are:

Crazy Poker
Pacific Poker
Royal Vegas Poker

You can literally build a bankroll from nothing on these sites starting out at the micro-limits and moving up. I've turned $10 into $260 at Crazy Poker and just started on the Pacific one last night, which is at $18.

Okay, I have now actually read through the whole post and have a few other replies for you. Oh, and welcome to the forums!

Very true, and very good for all of us, despite what some people will try to claim. ABC poker is the best way to beat these SS games, as well as avoiding tilt on beats that will happen now and again.

I don't really know what this means.

Posting and reading hands here is the only reason I am good at poker. This forum is the absolute best way to improve your game (obviously combined with playing.)

Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay.
