Default Good ways to get into playing stud.

Hey guys. I'm mostly a low limit holdem player but i've gotten a little tired of the game and would like to start playing low limit stud. I've glanced through Zee's book and was wondering if anybody else could recommend some reading material before i start playing. I've played 50+K hands of holdem and have read sklansky's books on holdem but i have NO stud experience. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Start with a site (or a limit) that has reasonable antes. On the really low limit stud on Party the ante is 1/4 or 1/8 of a BB. This is just monstrous.

Proper play when the ante is 1/4 a BB is hugely different from proper play when the ante is 1/12 or 1/20th a BB.

So read Zee's book.
Play LIVE CARDS (super important)
Be hesitant to play pairs that are behind (ex you have J3J, A raises, K calls)

Pokerroom has a very low ante structure at 1/2... 10 cents I believe. And there is a 30% to 300 bonus in case you havent heard.

Seven Card Stud for Advanced Players (Sklansky/Malmuth/zee) is a MUST.

I recommend the .5/1 games on Paradise and Prima due to the low ante structure (none and 5 cents respectively) which goes a long way in teaching n00bs about the importance of starting hand selection.

Ditto what was said about playing live hands
