Default First SS post - A10o hand

After hundreds of hours of reading and playing I've finally reached the promised land that is $2/$4, hello everyone.

The following hand had me a little confused. I've been playing so much 6-max it fealt really natural to open here with A10o, but afterwards it felt a little awkward so I guess my main question here is raise or fold preflop? Villain was like 68/9/.4 over around 11 hands at this point, and was all in on the turn.

PF is a bit questionable, but I don't think it's wrong. Yes, it's a raise or fold situation.

Postflop is fine, you're not folding when he has less than 1BB left on the turn and you can't fold the flop either. You're probably beat most of the time here but for the cheap price I would call down.

I think this is a fold in a ten handed game in MP.

In MP1 a raise here could get three bet and therefore your hand is no good. I would fold this hand in MP1 and raise this in late position with no callers to you.

I see nothing wrong with this play. Especially since villain was all-in on turn (can't get any more from you if you ARE beat).

I'm guessing you check/called his bet on turn since the post shows "Hero checks, Hero calls." you will see an AK unimproved here enough times to make this post-flop play correct.

As for the open raise with A10o in MP - if you are gonna play it, may as well play it for a raise. I don't like to get 3 bet here as I am likely against a better Ace or PP - but once the flop came 10 high, you have to play on against a villain with those stats.

I could also leave my house today and get mugged on my way to the train. That doesn't mean I should never leave my house.

Basically, your hand is no good if you get 3-bet is not a reason not to raise.

Preflop is fine, but I check-raise the flop and go from there.

This is an easy raise from MP1 for me. When you hit TPTK against someone who is almost all-in, I just reraise the the flop and bet the turn to put him all-in. You are pretty much committed when he is running out of chips.

surprised no one has said limp. whatever happened to just limping PF with A10o. thats what i usually do and that's what SSHE says. limp not suited, raise suited. i think limping is best here, IMO
