88 hand
How would you play?
Prima $0,25/0,50 (10 max) Hero is MP+1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP calls, Hero raises, MP calls (the rest folds.) Flop is A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls. Turn K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls. River K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MP checks, Hero checks. |

Re: 88 hand
Given the weakness of the limper, I think I would have bet on the river.

Re: 88 hand
Looks ok. Depending on the limper I might check the turn and fold to a river bet, but it really depends on whether he'll call me down with 76o here.

Re: 88 hand
A river bet makes little sense with two overcards out there in my opinion.
His villain likely has an Ace or a Queen, so Hero should take the free showdown. |

Re: 88 hand
I might have limped instead of raising pf unless it was a tight table. Anyone else limp?
Looks like the raise worked out for you on this one, I would have played it the same after the flop. |

Re: 88 hand
Thanks. I raised because I am feeling these games are tight and when you raise you can reduce the field a lot like happened here. Also I wanted a free showdown, because I dont think some higher pair will really fold here, and I have been raised/checkraised a lot lately, many opponents are slowplaying their good hands till the river at this limit. |

Re: 88 hand
If the table is as tight as you say, raising PF isn't a bad play. Under normal circumstances, I limp from MP with 88.
I'd check through on the turn with three overcards to my pocket pair. I don't think he'd call on the flop with a six here, with the table playing tightly as you describe. I'd put him on a weak ace. Plus, this pot is tiny, no need to get aggressive. Check the turn, fold to a bet on the river. |
