The only thing I would do different is check/call the river.

Need reads on Button and UTG+1.

Does Button steal blinds? If yes, with what range of hands? If he raises enough hands to steal blinds/isolate single limpers, you should 3-bet this preflop. If he doesn't blind steal and only raises dope stuff, fold preflop.

BUT

Button folds the flop - so now we're beyond preflop.

When UTG+1 raises the turn, who cares, 3-bet every time. When he caps, I think - oh [censored], this guy has me rocked. He probably has 99 or 22.

A read would help on this, but really, the difference between bet/calling and check/calling is only one BB. Sucks that you lost, but you were destined to lose this hand.

reads make this different, but UTG had to limp A9,A2, 22,99 or Aj-AK to be ahead on the turn, not many of those are likely limping hands preflop, so the 3bet is fine, and you have to call the cap

to bet you need to be good 67% of the time, this is where reads are handy is this person someone who limps AK,AQ,AJ?? if so I'd prob just check/call .. those are typical raising hands so against a more typical player i bet/call the raise

How do you know he lost the hand? Sorry, I'm new here.

Also, what were the final results?

Try not to give away the results this way. It skews the responses. End it with your question, like this...

Hero...???

You'll get more honest evaluation.

Regardless, I'm not sure I'd play this any differently. It's becoming fairly common for players to slow-play their set, so you could be way behind on the turn. But I've seen bad players play A7, A6, A5, A4 the same way. I think I bet the river as well.
