Is Sklansky really pronounced "Skuh-lan-sky"? I always thought it was just two syllables.

Sexton should be replaced with Ciaffone. By the way, who thinks Sklansky should have raised on the flop with the 3's? The river call was nice.

That's what I thought as well.

It's possible they asked David before the event (like a professional broadcaster would) but it's just as likely they made it up and may or may not be correct.

They consistently mispronounced Phil Helm-uhth in the first season...and didn't change to the correct Phil Helm-yooth until the 2nd season (which is also after the 2003 WSOP broadcast on ESPn got it right).

They also were brutally off on Antonio Estanfandiari or whatever it is.

Until David tells us differently I'm going to have to assume that Vince is just making it up.

Sexton is joining him in the booth now so it will be interesting to see if he pronounces it with the extra 'uh'.

If it was anybody but VVP, I'd probably just assume I'd had it wrong all this time but taking into account the source of the extra syllable....

I've got Sklansky the Video, the announcer uses 2 syllables. VVP is a retard.

thanks for confirming the pronounciation.

of course...we already knew that VVP was a moron...but it's nice to confirm that too.

Phil has just talkd about 'inventing a new way to play poker'.

Mike and Vince say Hellmuth differently...VVP says the correct 'Helm-yooth'. when Mike and VVP are both talking about Phil they are essentially alternating the pronounciation.

Absolutely TERRIBLE and unprofessional.
It's not that hard...even the former jocks who are color-commentators in the various sports can be instructed how to say some of the names correctly.

The difference in the WPT is that there isn't an experiences broadcaster in the booth to help guide the other one.
Mike is pretty classy....but his announcing skills are pretty lacking and it creates some glaring inconsistencies.

That said...I'm enjoying the show.
Mike's banter is pretty fun.
Wish David would freaking speak....but he's probably too busy trying to win instead of mug for the cameras.

Did you see the commercial for VVP's poker course for 2 easy payments of $20? He admits on the show that he doesn't know how to play...funny.

By the way, Phil Hellmuth is an eagle.
