Default How Do Democrat/Liberal Posters Feel About Washington Govenor Race?

How do you feel about the race? Do you think the democrats or a small faction of democrats stole the election? Do you want to see a new vote?

No stolen election: just total hipocracy on both sides.

no revote: time to move on.

"No stolen election: just total hipocracy on both sides."

Fair enough. Why do you think that?

The Democrats stole the Washington governor's seat just like Bush stole the election in 2004. Neither happened.

A revote would be unfair to those who have already voted. No do-overs.

their shifting opinions were like reeds in the electoral wind. dino 'let the vote stand rossi' may as well had his brain trans-reversed (remember bloom county) as the vote count shifted. republican chairman chris 'count every vote- except those in king county' vance is such a shill that i'm ashamed to live in the same state as such an unprincipled hack. Christine 'victory at all costs' Gregoire showed herself for what we all knew she was, a skilled and cutthroat political operator to whom winning the election was more important than the welfare of the state.

damn. i'd rather have four more with Gary 'thumb up his ass do-nothing' Locke.

the fact is the election would have been stolen if it was clearly the fault of one of the parties- but it was the process that was so screwy; it was the fault of a poorly designed electoral system with numerous grey areas that allowed all these reckless opurtunists to exploit so many little loopholes and nuances of the vote-count mechanisim that one could rightfully claim that the election was or wasn't stolen, no matter who won.

at the very least, the good that may come out of this is A: no mandate for gregoire- she'll be forced to the center in order to get anything done, and have to work her tail off even then. B: electoral reform.

here's hoping.

Fu**ing evergreen state.

A revote would be so annoying. You'd probably need to have recounts for the revote, it'd cost a lot of money and waste a lot of time. I'd hope I'd feel the same way no matter who won.

I doubt the election was stolen, per se, but there are going to be a lot of new reforms to the election process to cover up all the holes this election has exposed.

I mostly agree with you guys. The election wasn't stolen, it's just that this state has the most F'd up voting system in the country (besides Florida). It's time to revamp the system so that all the counties have the same method of casting ballots.

It was a photo finish, which Gregoire legitimately won. The votes were counted, the results came back, and the Republicans are pissed as hell that they couldn't stop the recount before the truth came out. Thankfully, Washington State isn't the Banana Republic of Florida.

I don't think we will ever really know who got the most votes. If you had 10 more recounts, you would have 10 different outcomes (as far as vote totals).
