Default Dell 8600 vs. Dell 6000

This was brought up in another Dell thread, but i thought it deserved it's own. The laptop of choice here for poker seems to be the 8600. However, I customized a pretty nice 6000 with a UXGA screen for a little over $1000. Is there any reason the 8600 is superior to the 6000? Unless I'm completely missing something, the 6000 is plenty sufficient for poker and a few hundred dollars cheaper. Info please.

Bump. Anyone have an opinion on this? Sale ends tomorrow (potentially...you know Dell)

As a poker machine, there is no difference if they both have the same screen. The performance between the two wouldn't be enough to warrant the higher price for the 8600.

Not just you. It appears to be gone. Guess that finalizes the decision if I pull the trigger today...

They are rumored to be coming out with a new model tomorrow (link). Perhaps that's why their sale ends today.

Thanks.

My thought is that Dell will continue to have sales/lower prices on the older models, so I'm going to wait a bit to see what happens.
