Default 99 on AA8 flop

This is a fairly typical situation that I'm not sure I play optimally. How is my line here?

No read on UTG.

It it's a tricky opponent, sure, otherwise I usually bet the turn as well...don't want him hanging on with his Q or J...

Not betting the turn is based on a combination of two things: Inducing a bluff from a worse hand on the river and getting less money in the pot when I'm behind. Not many non-ace hands will call the flop here as there are no draws present. I'd also hate to call a turn checkraise which I think I have to.

My question is: Am I putting too much value on this sort of play as opposed to missing turn bets and folding hands that could hit on the river?

You know I like this play. The Heart draw might make it advisable to bet in this situation. If you feel that this is an opponent you could toss your hand for a raise then bet the turn. Otherwise I like your line.

If you had KK I like it. But I think you hand is too vunerable for this line.
