Spyware locked my task manager... any suggestions
Recently some spyware/malware whatever it is took over my machine. I think I have gotten rid of it, but I still can't use my task manager for some reason. When I press <Ctrl><Alt><Delete> I get an error message saying the task manager has been locked by the administrator. How do I fix this?

Re: Spyware locked my task manager... any suggestions
I've had a similar problem although I'm not certain it was the same problem. Ctrl-Alt-Del would not bring up my task manager. Appears there was another process running that was working to prevent me from opening task manager (I probably picked it up from a Kazaa-Lite download)
What I had to do was download an application (from downloads.com) that performed the same function as Task Manager. Using this application I was able to shut down the process that was preventing me from opening TM. Again I'm not certain if this is the same problem you are experiencing. Sadly, I'm at work right now and do not off hand remember the name of the application. When I get home this evening I'll post it here - if you're still stuck Wyers |

I found a thread in another discussion forum at another website that may have the answer to your problem.
