3/6 live 55 in MP
3/6 live at the casino is much like .50/1 at Party. given that. here is the hand
I'm in early MP with 55. I limp. 3 behind me limp. Flop [ 9 7 4 ] cant remember the suits, they are less important. A guy from EP bets the flop. Hero......... I know he has at least top pair, but I also know that he will check the turn if he doesn't improve giving me a free showdown. Is this reason enough to call this flop? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. |

What is the EP bettor like? LP after the flop? LA? IF you're going to play you MUST raise. This is a raise or fold situation.

Re: 3/6 live 55 in MP
I just fold here. There are 2 overcards already on the flop, and plenty of loose limpers around to catch more. If you're going to play, you gotta raise to try and get rid of some, but the pot is small and there will be better opportunities. I just pass this one.

Fold like 99% of the time.
Raise 1% of the time. Call 0% of the time. |

Re: 3/6 live 55 in MP
he is passive.
If I do raise here, what do I do if I miss the turn? (I assume bet trying to win it there.) I considered folding before anything else, but then i thought i'd rather see a showdown for 1 SB rather than 2BB with my small pair. |

Re: 3/6 live 55 in MP
The problem is that there are other players in as well. You don't have just the EP guy to worry about. With those other players in, it should be an easy fold.

Re: 3/6 live 55 in MP
You are essentially drawing to 2 outs. (the other 5's) On the flop, your odds are ~11:1 to get another 5 by the river. (Assuming - as you have - that no one will bet the turn or re-raise the flop.) You are given 5:1 to call the bet, so it's an easy fold.
The others being in the pot make it even worse because you could hit your 5 and lose even more money to a better hand. At least, those are my thoughts. FWIW. |

Even if you were sure to see the river for free with a couple other callers behind you, it's not worth calling. |
