Check raising a weak flush
Is this CR on the turn reasonable? Villain is TAG.

Re: Check raising a weak flush
Seeing as you checked the flop, you should have check-raised it.
(I usally bet out the flop. If raised, I'll 3-bet it). Adam |

Re: Check raising a weak flush
I usually bet out this flop almost everytime. Is that wrong?

Re: Check raising a weak flush
I like betting out the flop too, it allows u to take it down more frequently without hitting. And i would surely 3 bet the river, u have a flush, odds of him having one also are small...

Re: Check raising a weak flush
Check raising the flop is over my head. I know I have a lot of outs (9 for the flush and 4 for the gutshot), but I'm out of the small blind. I can't get a free card, I can't buy outs, and I have no overcards.
Can you explain why a check raise is the right move? |

Re: Check raising a weak flush
I would check the flop. When you bet you are either rooting for everyone to call or for everyone to fold. This will rarely happen imo.

Re: Check raising a weak flush
Check-raising the flop is for value. You have a pretty nice draw here (4 flush plus a gutshot). You're going to improve to a straight or a flush more than 1 time in 3 (by the river). So the point right now is to build the pot with other people's money and get paid off large when you do hit and win.

Re: Check raising a weak flush
I didn't see the gutshot the 1st time. I only thought we had a flush draw. With just a flush draw I would check and see what happens.
With 12 outs I would enjoy getting raised if we could trap people. If the action goes bet-raise-fold-fold I would let out a meh. Brad |

Not c/r isnt bad, but you must checkraise when you hit. peace john nickle |
